X-Press Feeders joins RCL and KMTC in new Straits service

Singapore-based feeder operator X-Press Feeders is improving its connections between the Straits of Singapore, Vietnam, China and South Korea in collaboration with Regional Container Lines (RCL) and Korea Marine Transport Company (KMTC Line).

[s2If is_user_logged_in()]Each of the three carriers will deploy an owned ship to a China – Straits – South Korea service, which is being marketed as North China X-Press. SITC Container Lines and Gold Star Line are purchasing slots on the service.

The weekly service loop will be Dalian, Tianjin (Xingang), Qingdao, Ningbo, Singapore, Port Klang (Westports and Northport), Shekou, Incheon, Dalian.

The first sailing will take place on 26 January 2021, when the 2,743TEU X-Press Mekong departs from Dalian on the southbound leg. The ship will complete its voyage in Port Klang on 7 February and the following day, the 2,741TEU X-Press Kailash will join the loop.

The second sailing on the loop will be carried out by RCL’s 2,588TEU Vira Bhum, departing Dalian on 2 February. One yet to be confirmed ship will do the third sailing on 9 March, followed by the 2,556TEU KMTC Xiamen on 16 March.

X-Press Feeders will also purchase slots on Yang Ming’s Straits – Vietnam 8 service to offer a connection between Port Klang, Singapore, Pasir Gudang and Hai Phong.

The company is marketing the service as Haiphong Straits Xpress, offering a weekly direct link between transhipment ports in the Straits and Northern Vietnam, as well as a connection between Hai Phong and Pasir Gudang.

Currently, only OOCL’s VJS service offers a direct route between Hai Phong and Pasir Gudang.[/s2If]
