WinGD has signed a 15-year service agreement with OPearl LNG Ship Management. The deal was signed at Marintec in December.
The agreement covers 14 LNG carriers. It aims to protect engine performance, boost reliability, and improve efficiency as LNG demand continues to rise worldwide.
WinGD will provide spare parts, field service, technical support, and performance monitoring. The package also includes maintenance planning and crew training. The contract covers four 6X72DF-2.2 engines and ten 5X72DF-2.1 engines across OPearl’s fleet.
WinGD said the agreement will help ensure maximum engine uptime and reduce disruption at sea. The company added that reliable operations are critical for meeting tight delivery schedules in the LNG market.
OPearl said demand for LNG continues to grow. The company pointed to rising needs for sustainability and energy security. It added that the agreement strengthens fleet reliability and supports long-term performance goals.
OPearl was founded in December 2023 by China Merchant LNG, NYK LINE, and CNOOC. It operates a fleet dedicated to global LNG transport.
WinGD launched its “Global Service by WinGD” platform in June. The service supports vessels throughout their entire lifecycle. It combines technical expertise with a global service network to deliver maintenance, digital optimization, and crew training.
WinGD said the program builds on more than 125 years of engine design experience. It also helps operators meet today’s operational challenges and prepare for future demands.
