COSCO’s new gas carriers operate under Wärtsilä’s systems

Wärtsilä Gas Solutions has been selected to supply the cargo handling and fuel supply systems for four new Very Large Gas Carriers being constructed by COSCO Shipping Offshore.

The vessels are being built for a COSCO-affiliated owner group and will feature Wärtsilä’s cutting-edge engineering and onboard systems to support safe and efficient gas transport.

The contract underscores Wärtsilä’s strong reputation as a leading designer and supplier in the VLGC sector.

The first two vessel orders were secured in Q4 2024, with contracts for the additional two booked in Q2 2025.
