Wan Hai orders six 6,000 TEU LNG dual-fuel container ships

Wan Hai Lines has placed an order for six 6,000 TEU LNG dual-fuel container vessels, further expanding its newbuilding programme as it continues to modernize its fleet.

The vessels will be constructed by CSSC Huangpu Wenchong Shipbuilding in China, with prices reported to range between USD 75.2 million and USD 82 million per ship. Delivery of the newbuildings is scheduled for 2030.

With this latest order, Wan Hai’s orderbook increases to 38 vessels with a combined capacity of approximately 390,800 TEU, representing around 67% of the carrier’s existing fleet capacity.

The LNG dual-fuel newbuildings are expected to support Wan Hai’s long-term operational efficiency and emissions reduction strategy as the carrier prepares for tightening environmental regulations.
