WAN HAI Lines provides update on WAN HAI 503 incident

WAN HAI Lines has issued an update following the incident onboard the vessel WAN HAI 503, which occurred on 9 June 2025, confirming that all emergency response and casualty management measures have now been completed.

After the successful discharge of all containers at the port of refuge in Jebel Ali on 26 December 2025, the vessel was towed to Drydocks World Dubai. It was subsequently delivered to APT Global under a BIMCO Recycling Contract. The vessel arrived safely alongside its designated berth at Drydocks World on the evening of 12 January 2026.

APT Global is a ship recycling company operating in compliance with internationally recognised standards. WAN HAI Lines confirmed that the vessel will now be recycled in accordance with the requirements of the Hong Kong International Convention for the Safe and Environmentally Sound Recycling of Ships.

The company stated that it will continue to engage with relevant authorities and stakeholders as required throughout the recycling process.

WAN HAI Lines also expressed its sincere appreciation to all authorities, partners and professional teams involved for their support and cooperation throughout the recovery and resolution of the incident.
