Wan Hai Lines has clarified that the Indian police charges against the Taiwanese liner operator for negligence in relation to the Wan Hai 503 fire were due to a Kerala resident’s complaints about environmental pollution resulting from the June 9 incident.
On 19 June, Indian police said Wan Hai and Wan Hai 503’s crew have been charged with negligently operating a ship with hazardous cargoes.
