Volume records continue at the Port of New York & New Jersey

The Port of New York and New Jersey (NYNJ) has achieved a record in cargo volumes for the 13th consecutive month in August.

Particularly, the throughput in the NYNJ Port was 780,782TEU in August, which constitutes the third-highest monthly volume since the port began its cargo activities.

This number translates to an increase of 14.9% compared to the same month of the pre-pandemic year 2019 as well as a rise of almost 3% over the previous month, July 2021.

“The seaport’s record volumes month after month indicated sustained growth, mirroring a national trend of robust cargo activity,” commented the third busiest port in the US.
