The Port of Valencia has introduced a new Operational Alert Manager within its official mobile application, ValenciaportPCS, designed to enhance the speed and reliability of communications during disruptions to land transport in and around the port.
Now available free of charge on both the App Store and Google Play, this feature is part of the app’s Land Transport module. Users can also access it conveniently by scanning a dedicated QR code, eliminating the need to search manually.
The GAO enables real-time alerts for a range of potential disruptions—including terminal gate closures, roadworks, traffic blockages, strikes, scanner operations, and other events that may affect port-related road logistics.
This new functionality represents a major step forward for logistics efficiency at Valenciaport, offering key benefits to all stakeholders:
For port and terminal operators it improves coordination and shortens reaction times to unexpected events. For hauliers and logistics companies it provides real-time, actionable information for better planning of arrivals, deliveries, and departures. For the broader logistics ecosystem it increases transparency, streamlines traffic flow, and reduces bottlenecks ultimately raising service quality and operational efficiency.
The GAO was unveiled during the most recent session of the Port of Valencia’s Quality Council, which reviewed progress across various working groups under the Marca de Garantía program.
The Communications Protocol Working Group emphasized a key innovation: the GAO allows direct, traceable communication from the information source, without the need for intermediaries. This ensures faster and more reliable operational updates.
