V.Group has announced the acquisition of Njord, the maritime fuel efficiency and decarbonisation specialist founded by Maersk Tankers. The transaction marks a further expansion of V.Group’s fuel efficiency and decarbonisation ecosystem, reinforcing its technical capabilities and technology-driven services.
The acquisition enhances V.Group’s ability to deliver value to shipowners and charterers by combining its existing strengths in regulatory compliance and operational efficiency with Njord’s advanced systems and technology integration expertise.
Following the transaction, Njord will become the primary decarbonisation brand within the V.Group portfolio. The combined offering is intended to support shipowners and operators in navigating the transition to cleaner and more efficient operations, drawing on both companies’ established market positions. Njord will integrate closely with V.Group’s wider marine services platform to deliver a connected, end-to-end approach to decarbonisation and fuel efficiency.
The combined capabilities are expected to address growing industry demand for comprehensive tools, solutions and insights that deliver measurable fuel efficiency improvements while supporting longer-term carbon reduction targets.
