Unifeeder and Portchain team up

Unifeeder has partnered with Portchain to boost operational efficiency, reduce waiting times, and cut fuel consumption through the Portchain Connect platform. The system links Unifeeder directly with its terminal network, providing a shared, real-time view of schedules and enabling faster alignment on berthing windows.

The collaboration follows a successful Proof of Value project across the Americas, Northern Europe, and the Mediterranean, which showed earlier berth confirmations, reduced waiting times, and daily time savings of up to one hour for operations teams. Improved access to high-quality terminal data also supported more stable vessel speeds and measurable fuel savings.

By digitizing berth alignment, the partnership reduces manual communication, giving Unifeeder teams real-time visibility of terminal plans while terminals receive up-to-date schedule and move count information. The result is faster alignment, more reliable data, and support for Just-In-Time arrivals.

Christian Jurlander, Head of Global Fleet Optimization at Unifeeder, highlighted the benefits: “Operations teams gain more time for planning instead of chasing information, leading to more efficient operations and fuel savings.”

Craig Halford, VP Sales at Portchain, added: “We are proud to support Unifeeder in achieving Just-In-Time Arrivals for more predictable and efficient port call operations.”
