Unifeeder and CMC Vellore launch ‘CerviCare Thrice’ initiative

Unifeeder, a DP World company, has partnered with the Christian Medical College (CMC) and Hospital, Vellore, to launch CerviCare Thrice, a community health initiative aimed at improving prevention, screening, early detection, and treatment of cervical cancer among women in India. The programme is supported by consulting partner Amana.

The initiative was inaugurated at CMC Vellore with the unveiling of the donor’s plaque, attended by representatives from Unifeeder, CMC Vellore, and Amana. CerviCare Thrice focuses on strengthening cervical cancer prevention and treatment through coordinated public health interventions and the use of the Geneva brachytherapy applicator, which enhances precision and accessibility in cancer care.

Unifeeder and CMC Vellore plan to reach more than 10,000 girls and women each year across Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Jharkhand, and Bihar through school- and community-based awareness programmes. In addition, around 3,000 women will be screened annually using HPV and diagnostic tests. Those identified with precancerous conditions will receive follow-up care and treatment using thermal ablation and LEEP (Loop Electrosurgical Excision Procedure) technologies.

The programme will also boost CMC Vellore’s treatment capacity by deploying advanced Geneva brachytherapy applicators, enabling more accurate and effective therapy for cervical cancer patients. Each patient will be placed under structured follow-up to ensure continuity of care and long-term recovery support.
