TX Logistik sees increased demand in waste transport by rail

So far in 2023, TX Logistik, a private railway company, has seen significant demand for international waste shipping via rail. The railway logistics firm, which is part of Mercitalia Logistics (Gruppo FS Italiane), expects transfers to triple to up to 850 trains per year.

TX Logistik has been successful in transferring many waste shipments from road to rail, notably in the European north-south corridor. The firm transfers municipal garbage across borders to recycling sites in numerous European nations, among other things.

Exploris Deutschland Holding’s recent acquisition of the freight railway Exploris opens new prospects and capacity for such transports since Exploris primarily concentrates on rail freight transport in the conventional transport segment.

TX Logistik specialised in the transportation of waste from diverse businesses in the Rail Freight segment from the beginning. The products include scrap metal as well as municipal waste. Since 2002, the Troisdorf railway logistics firm has been accredited as a specialised waste disposal company to handle such waste transfer.

Furthermore, the most recent repeat audit, which verified TX Logistik to regularly exceed the high-quality criteria for the rail transport of hazardous and non-hazardous waste in Europe, was conducted successfully in August 2022.

Employees’ expertise, technological requirements for professional transport, thorough record and data management, as well as legal compliance and insurance protection, must be routinely shown in accordance with the regulation for waste disposal companies within the framework of the circular economy and waste law.
