TTI Algeciras to aquire two Kalmar shuttle carriers

The Finnish manufacturer Kalmar and Total Terminal International Algeciras SA (TTI Algeciras) have come into an agreement for two Kalmar shuttle carriers, which are expected to be delivered to the Spanish container terminal by the first quarter of 2022.

The two new machines will be added to the 21 Kalmar shuttle carriers, which are already operating in TTI Algeciras.

The new equipment that will be delivered to the Port of Algeciras Bay’s terminal will dispose of an efficient diesel-electric power unit and an electrical system for the upper frame and spreader, feature excellent manoeuvrability, quiet operation and easy maintenance, according to Kalmar’s statement.

Chief Executive Officer of TTI Algeciras, Alonso Luque Jimenez pointed out the significance of the collaboration with the manufacturing firm, saying “Our operations have relied on Kalmar’s shuttle carrier technology right from the beginning, with their high performance and our long-term cooperation made it self-evident to turn to Kalmar now that we need to expand our capacity.”
