Truckers to monitor traffic flow in Port Everglades

Traffic flows on McIntosh Road, the main thoroughfare in the container area of Southport in Port Everglades, will be monitored 24 hours a day by truck drivers.

“Certain times of day are busier than others, and these new webcams give truckers the ability to plan accordingly,” said Port Everglades chief executive and port director, Jonathan Daniels.

“The trucking community and our customers requested this service and we responded,” Daniels added.

Drivers have two-sided visibility – one camera faces north from the Crowley Administration Building showing entrances for the Crowley Terminal, Port Everglades Terminal (PET) and Florida International Terminal (FIT) and the other faces south from the McIntosh Road security checkpoint.
