Boxship demolitions in 2024 halved from 2023 as the Red Sea crisis sent freight rates to post-Covid-19 peaks. Just 56 vessels, or 80,950 TEUs, were scrapped, compared with 162,000 TEUs in 2023, according to Alphaliner.
