Top shipping carriers introduce Mediterranean surcharges

CMA CGM has applied a peak season surcharge (PSS) applicable from 15 March 2020 (date of loading in the origin ports) until further notice.

The charge will be applied From all Mediterranean (East, West & Adriatic) and Black Sea ports to the Far East, for all dry cargo and will be for US$300/20′ and US$300/40′ containers.

In addition, Hapag-Lloyd has announced an increased ocean tariff rate for all cargoes for 20’ and 40’ all container types (including high cube containers) on the Middle East trade from all Italian ports to Middle East & Indian Subcontinent destinations.

In addition for sailings commencing on 1 April 2020 onwards and until further notice, the company’s ocean tariff rate from Italian ports to Middle East & Indian Subcontinent will be:
