Toll Group has announced the appointment of Thomas Knudsen as Executive Chairman, effective 1 July 2025. The leadership change follows the departure of Group Managing Director Alan Beacham, with Knudsen stepping into the role on an interim basis.
Knudsen brings over 30 years of global logistics experience, with a career spanning Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and the Americas. Since joining Toll in 2018 as President of Global Forwarding, he has held several key roles, including Managing Director (2020–2022) and, most recently, Non-Executive Chairman (2022–2025).
“Toll has a proud history and a strong future,” Knudsen commented. “I’m honoured to step into this role at a pivotal time and continue working alongside a talented leadership team committed to delivering for our customers, people, and partners. My focus will be on stability, execution, and momentum as we transition into our next chapter”, said Thomas Knudsen.
Knudsen will provide executive oversight, while collaborating closely with the Toll Board and executive leadership, to maintain continuity and drive performance across the business.
Beyond his roles at Toll, Knudsen also advises several private equity and investment firms, offering strategic insights into capital allocation and business transformation. He played a key role in steering Toll through the COVID-19 pandemic and spearheading operational improvements during his previous tenure.
Originally from Denmark and now based in Singapore, Knudsen holds an Executive Master of Management in Supply Chain from IE Business School (Madrid) and has completed executive programs at Harvard Business School, INSEAD, and Cranfield School of Management.
