TecPlata, ICTSI’s Buenos Aires terminal, has partnered with Patagonia Shipping Lines to launch a new maritime service to Ushuaia, establishing a vital logistics corridor to Argentina’s southernmost city.
Strategically located at the tip of the country, Ushuaia is both isolated and essential, with industries such as electronics assembly, fishing, and energy sustained by government incentives and protective trade measures.
With limited overland access, maritime transport remains the city’s lifeline, connecting local production to the rest of Argentina.
One key beneficiary of the new service is Newsan, one of Ushuaia’s largest employers, which assembles consumer electronics for nationwide distribution.
By enhancing supply chain efficiency, the TecPlata–PSL link directly supports regional industry while reinforcing Argentina’s wider trade network.
The new TecPlata–PSL service strengthens TecPlata’s position within Argentina’s national port system, providing a competitive platform for regional carriers and enhancing the integration of Argentina’s southern economy into global trade flows.
