Tariff truce buys Transpacific shipping a breather but not a break

The United States and China have agreed to postpone new tariff hikes for another 90 days, keeping US duties at 30% and China’s at 10% until November 10.



The move comes as the world’s two largest economies try to hammer out a longer-term trade accord and it’s giving transpacific shipping a short-term reprieve at the height of the holiday import season.
