
Continued uncertainty over the enforcement of US tariffs has unsettled the markets again as the Trump administration delays import duties until 1 August but reveals tax levels on 14 countries.
Having announced 25% tariffs on Japanese and South Korean exports on 7 July, there appeared to be some discrepancy over the implementation date, with treasury secretary Scott Bessent finally clearing up the confusion confirming that 1 August is the new implementation date.
