Synergy Marine welcomes two Newbuildings as 2025 draws to a close

Synergy Marine Group has expanded its managed fleet with the delivery of two new vessels at the close of 2025.

The Kamsarmax Basic Progress has joined the global dry bulk fleet following delivery from Jinglu Shipyard in China. The chemical tanker Golden Calypso has entered service from Asakawa Shipbuilding in Japan.

Synergy said the vessel names reflect its operating philosophy. Basic Progress represents disciplined and steady advancement. Golden Calypso highlights rhythm and resilience in daily operations.

Representatives from Doun Kisen attended the delivery of Basic Progress. They included Managing Director Yusuke Okochi and Newbuilding Manager Toshiyuki Yoshikawa. At Asakawa Shipbuilding, Synergy also met Captain Katsuya Abe, President of Nissen Kaiun, a long-standing partner of the group.

Ajay Chaudhry, Co-CEO of Ship Management, said ship management now extends beyond operations. He said managers must deliver long-term value by aligning vessels with decarbonisation, regulation, and digital change. He added that this responsibility covers the full life of a vessel.

Synergy said Chaudhry’s presence at the shipyards reflects its hands-on approach and close engagement with crews.

Looking ahead to 2026, the group pointed to tighter CII limits, EU ETS implementation, and stricter compliance requirements. Synergy said ship managers must lead change rather than react to it.

Vikas Trivedi, Co-CEO of Ship Management, said effective custodianship depends on anticipating future needs. He added that performance and compliance rely on managing people, technology, and operations as one system.

Synergy thanked its partners, seafarers, and shore teams as it prepares for 2026 with a focus on consistency and long-term value.
