Swissterminal begins operations in France

The Swiss port operator, Swissterminal will officially take over the operation of three inland ports in the Alsace region, in Ottmarsheim, Huningue and Ile Napoléon, from 1 July. The three French ports will be operated through Alsaceterminal SAS, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Swissterminal AG.

Swissterminal’s expansion into France, announced in early 2021, will lead to additional space for logistics growth as well as increased handling and storage capacity.

Additionally, a wide range of port services is available at the three ports in France, including bulk and breakbulk services, commercial rental space, project cargo solutions and rail services.

“We are very much looking forward to building a bigger and stronger organisation and accelerating logistics activities in France and the tri-border area,” said Roman Mayer, CEO of the Swissterminal Group, who went on to add, “We will drive the introduction of more products, further improve performance and reliability in French ports and develop innovative measures to make all logistics processes more sustainable.”
