Swire Shipping revises PSS for Asia–Pacific Islands trade

Swire Shipping has announced a revision to its Peak Season Surcharge (PSS), citing rising operational costs, increased charter hire rates, and stronger cargo demand across key regional lanes.

Effective November 1, 2025 (Bill of Lading date), the updated PSS will apply to shipments moving from North Asia, Greater China, Southeast Asia, the Middle East Gulf, and the Indian Subcontinent to destinations in the Pacific Islands, including American Samoa, Fiji, French Polynesia, New Caledonia, Samoa, Tonga, and others.

The revised surcharge levels are as follows:

  • USD 300 per 20′ container

  • USD 600 per 40′ container

  • USD 15 per RVT for breakbulk cargo

Swire Shipping stated that the adjustment is necessary to sustain its market-leading service frequency and extensive port coverage across the Pacific.
