Bauer will drive the expansion of integrated logistics solutions. “HGK is a strong group, offering end-to-end services from seaports to terminals along the Rhine. We ensure raw material supply for industrial hubs through sustainable inland waterway and rail services. I will build on this by enhancing our portfolio and connecting processes more closely. Data-driven, AI-supported services will add value and strengthen our position as an integrated, flexible, and market-oriented logistics group,” Bauer said.

Shaping change through innovation and responsibility

Bauer sees industry transformation as an opportunity. “Market shifts, new sustainability standards, and technology create great potential. With digital and innovative transport concepts and a clear focus on climate protection, we will seize this potential and further establish HGK as a reliable partner for industry.”

He also stressed HGK’s role in the Cologne and Rhineland region. “With our logistics services, we secure supplies and mobility for the region. At the same time, we are developing FUSION COLOGNE in northern Cologne as a sustainable industrial and logistics hub. This will strengthen existing industries and attract new businesses.”

With Bauer’s appointment, HGK AG’s Board of Directors is complete. The management team now consists of Steffen Bauer (CEO), Susanne Pietsch (CFO), and Dr. Jens-Albert Oppel (COO). Bauer will also remain CEO of HGK Shipping for the time being.
