Solstad renews partnership with Marlink

Solstad has renewed its long-standing partnership with Marlink to advance its digitalization strategy through to 2028.

Under the new agreement, Marlink will deliver SealinkNextGen, a next-generation managed connectivity solution that combines Starlink’s low Earth orbit network with guaranteed GEO-VSAT services and MSS backup.

The agreement also enables Solstad to manage bandwidth dynamically across its fleet, optimizing performance and cost-efficiency by assigning connectivity where it’s needed most.

Christian Nesheim, ICT Director at Solstad sai that Marlink’s agile approach supports the evolving digital needs, helping us deliver smarter, more efficient offshore services.

The hybrid solution offers significant advantages, including: High-throughput, low-latency LEO connectivity to support advanced applications such as video conferencing, cloud computing, and real-time vessel management. Also, enhanced crew welfare through improved access to social media and streaming services and full global redundancy with Marlink’s highly reliable VSAT network.
