Under the patronage of HE Abdullah bin Ali Al Balushi, Majlis Al Shura Representative for Wilayat Suhar, SOHAR Port and Freezone successfully concluded the third edition of Maseer — its summer initiative equipping more than 1,000 students from grades 5 to 11 with future-ready skills through hands-on training and innovative workshops.
By hosting the program in both Suhar and Liwa, SOHAR reaffirmed its commitment to fostering a generation of youth empowered with digital, technical, and cognitive skills that will shape the nation’s economic and social future.
This year’s Maseer engaged students across three four-day cycles, offering workshops in Artificial Intelligence, Cloud Computing, Cybersecurity, 3D Design with TinkerCAD, Arduino Programming, Renewable Energy, Smart Cities Development, and English Language Learning.
Two new workshops — Smart Assistant and My Digital World — were launched in Suhar to further strengthen digital literacy and promote sustainability awareness. Students showed strong interest in sessions on Cybersecurity, 3D Design, and Arduino, where hands-on projects and personalized mentoring encouraged creativity, critical thinking, and collaboration.
Rashad Al Wahaibi, Communications Advisor at SOHAR Port and Freezone, commented:
“The success of Maseer’s third edition reflects our dedication to investing in the next generation, equipping them with the knowledge and skills needed to contribute to Oman’s socio-economic growth. This year’s program served as an inspiring platform to promote innovation, hands-on learning, and self-confidence among students.”
Abdulmajeed Al Balushi, CEO of Kidsity Center Suhar, added:
“Maseer has proven to be more than just a summer learning initiative; it is a comprehensive experience that gives our youth a unique opportunity to develop digital and cognitive skills aligned with the demands of the future. We are proud of our partnership with SOHAR Port and Freezone in making this opportunity accessible to students.”
