SLS Bucharest Intermodal Terminal selects Navis Cloud TOS and DSP for new intermodal facility

SLS Bucharest Intermodal Terminal, a logistics and transport operator under FAN Courier ownership, has recently opened Romania’s first intermodal terminal within an industrial park.

This new initiative is a key component of the company’s medium and long-term growth strategy, which was announced in 2020 following its integration into the FAN Courier portfolio.

The investment, valued at nearly US$2 million and undertaken in partnership with P3, grants SLS Cargo exclusive operational rights over the terminal, significantly boosting its operational capacity.

Spanning over 55,000 m², SLS Cargo is the second-largest tenant in P3’s Industrial Logistic Parks along the A1 highway. The newly launched SLS Bucharest Intermodal Terminal is projected to handle up to 750 containers monthly, serviced by 15 trains on return routes to ConstanÈ›a Port.

SLS Cargo introduces a streamlined approach dubbed “one window,” offering a comprehensive range of transport services including road, sea, and air, complemented by warehousing, distribution, and customs consultancy services.

“When we needed a TOS for our new intermodal terminal, we knew we would get the best results with the Navis Cloud technology from Kaleris due to their extraordinary reputation and proven track record in the industry. We are looking forward to implementing it at SLS BUCHAREST INTERMODAL TERMINAL to get a competitive edge and achieve our goal of becoming the main point in container transportation in the region,” commented Mihai Stoica, CEO of SLS Cargo.

In addition, to enhance operational efficiency and cargo visibility, SLS Bucharest Intermodal Terminal has selected the Navis Cloud Terminal Operating System by Kaleris.

This system features an intuitive interface to optimize gate management, yard planning, cargo tracking, billing, and real-time data exchange via Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) connections. Designed to handle diverse cargo types, the Navis Cloud TOS provides a unified view of operations, empowering the terminal to make informed decisions that benefit its clients.

In collaboration with DSP – Data and System Planning, a certified Navis partner since 2007 specializing in Ports & Terminals Industry technology, SLS will implement Business Process Management and integration solutions tailored to their operational needs.

“We’ve been asked by SLS Cargo to design their digital platform solution to manage their operations and then to integrate the Navis Cloud TOS with their administrative and customs process. We will walk with SLS Cargo hand by hand through this digitalization journey putting at disposal all our experience, competence and innovation attitude to return the most possible value from the TOS,” stated Marco Fehmer CEO of DSP.
