SITC has signed a cooperation agreement with Dalian Maritime University aimed at strengthening collaboration between the shipping industry and academic institutions.
The agreement was signed on 18 March 2026 during a visit by Yang Xianxiang, Chairman of SITC, who led a delegation that included representatives from the Hong Kong Shipowners Association and the Maritime Talent Cultivation Alliance.
Yang Xianxiang and Shan Hongjun, President of Dalian Maritime University, signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organizations.
The partnership is designed to promote deeper integration between industry practices and academic development, with a focus on enhancing talent cultivation and advancing scientific research in the maritime sector.
According to the parties, the collaboration will support the development of a more coordinated framework linking shipping education with industry needs, helping to train a new generation of versatile maritime professionals.
The initiative will also aim to strengthen innovation within the shipping sector by combining academic expertise with practical industry experience, contributing to the long-term development of the maritime industry.
