Shipstar appoints new general manager

Shipstar, a provider of ship chandling services, has announced the appointment of Arul Prabeen Albert as the company’s new general manager.

Arul Prabeen Albert succeeds Simone Guerra, who is stepping down and will be transitioning out of Shipstar.

Arul Prabeen Albert, a seasoned professional with over two decades of diverse industry experience across the Maldives, Dubai, US, Spain, Denmark, Singapore, and the Philippines, will now lead Shipstar.

“I am honoured to lead Shipstar into its next phase of innovation and growth. The path ahead is clear, the foundation of Shipstar is strong, and I look forward to working with my team to make Shipstar a key player in the ship chandling market,” stated Arul Prabeen Albert.

Shipstar’s new general manager began his career in 2003 with the ship chandling company Wrist Group in the Maldives, then held various roles in the United States and Spain. Arul Prabeen Albert later joined Abena, a healthcare and sourcing company in Denmark, before returning to ship chandling in 2017 with Seven Seas Singapore as Head of Commercial. There, he exceeded revenue targets and improved profitability. In late 2019, he transitioned to Seven Seas Dubai to manage sensitive 3PL projects and served as Commercial Manager for Houston.

Shipstar serves shippers, agencies, captains, cruise vessels, ship owners, and ship management companies. The company’s supplier network allows them to source a wide range of products tailored to their clients’ specific preferences. Shipstar aims to ensure the availability of necessary products through a reliable transport network, warehouse facilities, a specialized fleet of trucks, and an experienced procurement team, all while maintaining competitive pricing and trust.

Shipstar is owned by House of Shipping, a consultancy and advisory services company for shipping, logistics, and maritime companies operating out of the UAE and India.
