Shippers need to better protect their supply chains as political and economic drivers are forcing rapid changes in sourcing supplies, container shipping services and capacity on critical routes.
Fluctuations in demand driven by wildly fluctuating tariffs have disrupted Pacific trades, but there has been a knock-on effect into the Asia/Europe services and other regions.
Xeneta’s chief analyst Peter Sand warned shippers: “”Geo-politics has upset the natural order of ocean container shipping on Transpacific trades in Q2 and shippers are still struggling to make sense of the situation.”
