Seaspan receives post-panamax vessels

Seaspan has accepted delivery of two 8,500TEU scrubber-fitted container ships, which will go on long-term charter with a global liner.

As Seaspan has previously announced the vessels are expected to be financed from additional borrowings as well as cash in hand. However, the wholly-owned subsidiary of Atlas Corporation has not disclosed any further details about its charter agreement with the global shipping line at the moment.

Seaspan has been involved in several charter agreements with major shipping companies in recent months. MSC agreed a deal for two new 24,000TEU mega container ships with expected delivery in the first six months of 2023.
