SeaLead fleet disrupted by US sanctions

According to DynaLiners, Singapore-based SeaLead Shipping has been hit hard by the US Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) decision to add around 50 ships, including 22 container vessels, to its sanctions list over alleged ties to Iran.

As a result, SeaLead has been forced to cancel the charters of 16 out of its 36 vessels, disrupting its Far East–Mediterranean 5CX and China–Red Sea CRS services. All other services are reported to be operating as normal.

The sanctioned vessels have been, or will be, offloaded at their next port call, with the final discharge expected in the first week of September.
