SeaCube Containers orders 3,000 reefers from Carrier Transicold

SeaCube Containers has made a significant move by ordering 3,000 refrigerated containers equipped with Carrier Transicold’s cutting-edge OptimaLINE™ units, marking a milestone as the first major container leasing company to adopt these highly efficient systems.

“Given the evolving sustainability requirements and rising operating costs, we sought a reefer solution that offered the flexibility to adapt to new and changing demands. OptimaLINE proved to be the perfect choice. It enhances fuel efficiency for sustainable operation while also helping to reduce operating expenses for our customers,” commented Bob Sappio, CEO of SeaCube.

The OptimaLINE units feature advanced technology, including a variable-speed compressor with a permanent magnet motor and a variable frequency drive, specifically designed to reduce energy consumption, boost reliability, and cut operating costs. These features also ensure tighter temperature control, which helps lower customers’ overall carbon footprint while delivering enhanced peace of mind.

Key advantages of the OptimaLINE system include:

  • High energy efficiency across all operating points and load conditions, ensuring top-tier performance in efficiency and reliability.
  • Reduction of annual energy costs by up to 15% compared to competitors.
  • A significant decrease in carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions, up to 40% less than previous Carrier units.

“We’re delighted that SeaCube has chosen the next-generation, future-ready, OptimaLINE reefer containers for their latest acquisition. The design of the OptimaLINE unit enables us to deliver a step change in efficiency, reliability and performance for SeaCube and their customers,” stated Vineet Kashyap, Vice President & General Manager, Global Container Refrigeration, Carrier Transicold.
