Seaber launches long-term partnership with Ultratank

The Finnish maritime technology firm Seaber.io has established a collaboration with chemical bulk operator Ultratank.

The Seaber solution will assist Ultratank in meeting its environmental objectives while improving profitability: Ultratank aims to lower its emissions per cargo ton-mile by 40% by 2030 compared to 2008 levels.

The contract with Ultratank is a significant achievement for Seaber. Increasing its customer base inside the tanker business is another step towards assisting the tanker industry in improving schedule planning and optimising operations, according to a statement.

“Ultratank shares our aspirations of being an environmentally friendly company,” noted Sebastian Sjöberg, CEO and co-founder of Seaber.

According to current data, Seaber’s planning and scheduling optimisation solution saves Ultratank 3% in operational expenses, which equates to 7,500 tonnes of CO2 saved yearly. Future cost savings are estimated to be up to 5%.

“Seaber will be a helpful tool to support our scheduling process, save bunkers and most importantly CO2 emissions,” stated Michel Polette, chartering manager at Ultratank.
