Scan Global Logistics expands into Kenya

Scan Global Logistics (SGL) opened its first office in Nairobi, Kenya with Duncan Wagura taking over the role of the managing director of the new office.

SGL said that the country’s logistics potential is increasingly growing due to improved infrastructure.

The global logistics and supply chain solutions provider foresees great potential by investing in the region, due to the commencement of the Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) linking coastal Mombasa to mainland Nairobi, as well as the improvement in road infrastructure in recent years.

According to SGL, through this competitive geographical coverage, the company can further support its large aid and relief and commercial cargo customers.

Lars Syberg, SGL’s CEO of Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) region, commented, “Kenya is fast developing and becoming a logistics hub for East Africa. The market is ripe for an international logistics company offering comprehensive end-to-end solutions to local and global customers.”
