Santos Port Authority and Zeittec to build new data center

Brazilian engineering company Zeittec and Santos Port Authority (SPA), a state-owned company that manages the Port of Santos in Brazil, have signed the contract for the construction of a new Data Center.

Construction of the “Safe Room” is expected to begin in January, and the building is expected to be completed in mid-2023.

SPA decided to implement a Safe Room, in order to meet the demands of digital transformation. Safe Room is a type of Data Center with firewalls certified by NBR 10.636, capable of resisting fire for up to 120 minutes (CF 120).

Moreover, in addition to a lot of physical security, the new data center will have a high-efficiency data communication network with CAT 6A structured cabling and OM4 multimode laser fiber optics, which allow for increased bandwidth.

“We will build a robust and resilient website, with redundant UPS and generators to provide high availability and security in data processing,” commented Zeittec commercial director, Claudenir de Oliveira.
