Samudera secures deals for boxship duo acquisition

Indonesian vessel owner Samudera Shipping Line has entered into agreements for the acquisition of two container ships.

Samudera will pay US$59.9 million for the two vessels, which have a box capacity of 1,500 TEUs. The container vessels are expected to be delivered in the second half of the year.

“The acquisition of the new vessels is not expected to have any material impact on the net tangible assets and earnings per share of the Group for the financial year ended 31 December 2023,” said Samudera in a statement.
