Ryder System has appointed Tammy Romo to its board of directors, effective January 5, 2026.
Romo will serve on the company’s Audit and Finance Committees. Ryder said her appointment reflects her strong track record in strategic oversight, financial leadership and transportation expertise.
Ryder chairman and CEO Robert Sanchez said Romo brings a results-driven leadership style and deep experience in complex public company environments. He said her financial expertise and focus on stakeholder engagement complement the board’s existing strengths.
Romo retired as executive vice president and chief financial officer of Southwest Airlines on April 1, 2025. She spent more than 30 years with the airline, including over a decade leading its corporate finance functions. During that time, she played a key role in transformation efforts and long-term value creation.
She also serves as an independent director at Tenet Healthcare Corporation, where she has been a board member since 2015.
