JSC RIKON has completed the delivery of its A-RMG crane fleet to the Madrid-Vicálvaro Intermodal Terminal.
The company shipped the second and third automated rail-mounted gantry cranes, marking the final stage of deliveries for ADIF. All units have now arrived on site as of March 2026.
With the latest delivery, the terminal’s core automated handling fleet is complete. The cranes are identical to the first unit delivered earlier. They are now ready for assembly, installation and commissioning.
The A-RMG cranes feature fully unmanned operation. They are integrated with RIKON’s remote operation system, enabling high-precision control and efficient container handling.
The Madrid-Vicálvaro project represents a major investment of over €300 million. Once operational, the terminal will serve as a key logistics hub for central Spain. It will connect Atlantic and Mediterranean rail corridors and handle around 150,000 intermodal units per year.
The delivery marks a key milestone ahead of the terminal’s launch. It also strengthens RIKON’s position in the European intermodal sector, following previous projects in major hubs such as Valencia.
The new facility is expected to improve efficiency, safety and capacity in Spain’s rail logistics network.
