The Rhenus Group has signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with Kyrgyz Temir Zholu, the National Railway Company of Kyrgyzstan, during the German-Kyrgyz Economic Forum in Cholpon-Ata. The agreement aims to strengthen freight transport collaboration and develop multimodal logistics solutions across Central Asia.
The partnership focuses on enhancing Kyrgyzstan’s role as a regional transit hub by increasing cargo flows along international transport corridors and improving conditions for transit, export, and import growth. Rhenus will provide expertise in multimodal logistics, terminal development, rail freight, consulting, and employee training.
The deal comes as Kyrgyzstan, China, and Uzbekistan advance the construction of a new railway linking the three countries. This route will connect directly to the Trans-Caspian International Transport Corridor, shortening the distance between China and Europe and creating new opportunities for logistics cooperation and infrastructure development.
