Red Sea Container Terminals (RSCT) has marked an important milestone with the soft opening of its new container terminal at Sokhna Port. Operations officially began with the arrival of the first vessel, CMA CGM Helium.
Developed in just 18 months, RSCT has been built into a world-class container terminal through close collaboration with the Ministry of Transport and the Suez Canal Economic Zone. Phase 1 features 1,200 metres of quay, 720,000 square metres of yard space, and advanced remotely operated cranes ready for full operations.
Sustainability is a core focus of the terminal. Electric cargo-handling equipment and trucks support lower emissions and greener port operations.
Backed by the combined expertise of Hutchison Ports, CMA CGM, and COSCO Shipping, RSCT is positioned to set new benchmarks for reliability, efficiency, and innovation at Sokhna Port.
The soft opening marks the start of a long-term commitment to strengthening Sokhna Port, supporting Egypt’s logistics ecosystem, and facilitating global trade.
