PSA Singapore is marking Singapore’s 60th year of independence with a sincere tribute, a massive container display unveiled at the historic Tanjong Pagar Terminal. The installation features two key messages: “SG60 ♥” and “PSA ♥ SG”, symbolising national pride and PSA’s longstanding connection with the nation’s maritime heritage.

Tanjong Pagar Terminal was Singapore’s first container port, opened in 1972. The site holds historical significance for the nation’s containerisation story.

Also, the display will be lit up nightly from 25 July to 13 August 2025. It adds a festive touch to the city skyline in the lead-up to National Day.

Furthermore, the structure spans 57 metres by 101 metres, and stands 14.6 metres high. It was built in just 32 hours with support from 14 shipping lines. A total of 271 containers were used.

Participating lines include Maersk, MSC, CMA CGM, ONE, PIL, COSCO, Hapag-Lloyd, and others. Additionally, on 25 July, a 10km charity run and a 5km walk will be held at the City Terminals. Staff will get a rare chance to walk through Tanjong Pagar and Keppel Terminals before redevelopment begins after 2027.

Funds raised will go to Care Corner Singapore, which supports those in need with social and healthcare services.

”In commemorating SG60 with this symbolic container formation, PSA pays tribute to our nation, our pioneers, our people and our partners – for every container moved and every connection made,” said Ong Kim Pong, Group CEO, PSA International.

Also, Nelson Quek, Regional CEO Southeast Asia, PSA International stated that: “SG60 is a proud occasion for PSA Singapore and a chance to honour the people and partnerships that have shaped our contribution to Singapore’s maritime success. This milestone is more than just a celebration”.
