The Prince Rupert Port Authority (PRPA) has announced that President and CEO Shaun Stevenson will retire effective December 31, 2025, following nearly three decades with the organization.
Stevenson, who joined PRPA in 1997 and became CEO in 2018, has played a central role in transforming the Port of Prince Rupert into Canada’s third-largest port, now handling more than $60 billion in trade annually and supporting 7,500 jobs across northern British Columbia.
“It has been an honour to lead the Prince Rupert Port Authority and work with such a talented team,” Stevenson said. “I’m proud of what we’ve achieved with our partners, including over $3 billion in development projects now underway, and I’m confident the port is well-positioned for continued growth.”
Board Chair Peter Lantin praised Stevenson’s leadership, noting his contributions to the port’s diversification and expansion. “Under Shaun’s leadership, we’ve seen unprecedented growth and progress at the Prince Rupert gateway,” he said. “The Board extends its deepest gratitude for his years of service.”
PRPA’s Board of Directors will launch a comprehensive search for a new CEO and ensure a smooth transition before Stevenson’s departure.
