Ports of Rotterdam and Shanghai renew their collaboration agreement

The Port of Rotterdam and the Port of Shanghai renewed their Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to further strengthen the sister port relationship during the North Bund Forum 2022 in Shanghai.

The opening ceremony of the forum was attended and opened by Shanghai Party Secretary Chen Jining. Chinese transport minister Li Xiaopeng and his Dutch counterpart Mark Harbers, minister of infrastructure and Water Management, both delivered a video address during the opening ceremony.

In the subsequent session on expanding international cooperation, Allard Castelein, CEO of the Port of Rotterdam Authority, and Yu Fulin, director general of the Shanghai Municipal Transportation Commission, signed an MoU online for further strengthening sister port relations.

The two major container ports have been cooperating for years in port planning, management, environment and efficiency, while they have also agreed to further expand their sister port relationship and cooperation on environmental protection and making port processes more efficient.
