Ports of Indiana announces new CEO

Jody Peacock has been chosen as the new chief executive officer (CEO) of Ports of Indiana, a statewide port authority that runs three ports on the Ohio River and Lake Michigan in the United States.

Peacock has worked with the Ports of Indiana in different positions since 2001, most recently as senior vice president for business development. Jody Peacock will replace Vanta E. Coda II, who served as CEO from 2018 until 2022.

“Jody’s extensive experience, customer-focused vision and deep understanding of the organization’s economic development mission make him uniquely well qualified for this role,” stated Micah Vincent, commission chairman.

During his 22-year tenure with Ports of Indiana, Peacock contributed to the development of numerous strategic plans and business initiatives that transformed the bipartisan port authority from a small government-funded agency to a self-funded, entrepreneurial enterprise that has achieved record growth under five governors.

Peacock oversaw business development activities that resulted in millions of dollars in private investment in Indiana’s ports, the expansion of the state’s foreign-trade zone, finance programmes, and the receipt of various federal awards for new infrastructure projects.
