Port of Salalah Contingency update due to Cyclone Luban

Maersk shares an update on the current weather outlook in Oman.

Cyclone Luban is expected to make landfall south of Salalah, Oman on October 12th. High swells and strong winds are expected in Salalah.

 

As safety is always a priority, the Port of Salalah will cease operations on October 11th. Plans to resume operations at the terminal will be assessed pending the impact of the storm. Import and transshipment cargo may expect delays. Below you can find an update on confirmed vessel contingencies, with additional contingencies to be reviewed and subject to change as the storm makes landfall.

Maersk Atlanta 1810 MECL/W Full operations to complete prior to port closure.
Uni Florida 1819 28A/W Omit Salalah. Imports and transshipment cargo to discharge in Jebel Ali.
Northern Dependant 1814 28A/W Omit Salalah. Imports and transshipment cargo to discharge in Jebel Ali.
MSC Clorinda 837E AE20/E Omit Salalah. Imports and transshipment cargo to discharge at King Abdullah Port, Saudi Arabia. Doha imports to discharge Singapore.
