Port of Wellington announces new director

Lachie Johnstone, chairman of CentrePort Wellington, announced the appointment of Jason McDonald to the Board of Directors.

Johnstone believes Jason McDonald will be a valuable addition to the board due to his extensive expertise in the energy and infrastructure industries.

“Jason joins us with more than 30 years of experience in the electricity industry. This will provide crucial insights to the Board that can support CentrePort’s energy journey. He also brings technology and infrastructure investment knowledge, which will support CentrePort’s overall development and strategic direction,” stated Lachie Johnstone, chairman of CentrePort.

Jason McDonald is a director, strategist, and governance consultant located in Wellington with a strong background in the energy sector. He is now an independent director of Orion, a Wellington-based electricity distributor, Connetics, a supplier of electrical design, installation and maintenance, and First Gas. He was formerly a director and chair of the car-sharing business Mevo, as well as an independent director of electricity distributor Top Energy and the transport provider Red Bus.

Jason McDonald is expected to join the Board on 1 September.
