Port of València Pilots’ Corporation launches modern simulator

The Port of València Pilots’ Corporation has launched its advanced simulator, which allows it to recreate real-world scenarios and enhance operations while strengthening marine safety.

Furthermore, this technology allows users to mimic any circumstance in the port’s waters, enabling them to practice manoeuvres on vessels of any size and in all sorts of operational situations (it includes a VTS or marine traffic simulator) as well as recreate any weather scenario.

This equipment, created by the technology firm Wärtsila, is unique in Spain and may be used by pilots, marine traffic operators, tugboats, or even all of them at the same time. It contains a maneuvering simulator and a VTS simulator that may be operated simultaneously and in coordination.

“All this is also done from different modules (up to four) and with the professionals working in isolation – in different rooms – these conditions provide greater realism to the simulation, it serves as training for all kinds of situations”, explained Javier Félix, president of the Port of València Pilots Corporation.
