The Board of Directors of the Port Authority of Valencia has granted a ten-year administrative concession to Valencia Terminal Europa for the operation of a vehicle and ro-ro cargo terminal at the Port of Sagunto.
The terminal, representing an investment of EUR€3.9 million, will be located at Central Quay 2 and South Quay 2 and will handle the reception, storage and distribution of vehicles and ro-ro cargo for private use.
The concession reinforces Sagunto’s established position as an automotive logistics hub within the Spanish port system.
In a separate decision, the Board approved an administrative concession for Lanzadera Emprendedores to construct and maintain a landscaped area of 1,723 square metres linked to the former Alinghi America’s Cup Team Base at Valencia Marina.
On port-city relations, the APV Council agreed to advance the processing of the Delimitation of Port Areas and Uses for the Port of Sagunto following a public information period.
APV President Mar Chao indicated that the authority had given consideration to representations made by the Sagunto City Council, framing the decision as a reflection of the port authority’s commitment to constructive engagement with the municipality.
Among other resolutions, the Board rejected an appeal lodged by Puerto Natura Valencia against the revocation of its concession to build and manage a public passenger terminal, denied Intersagunto Terminales’ request to modify its minimum annual traffic volume obligation, and approved a five-year extension to the fuel supply concession held by the Gandia Port Fishermen’s Association.
