Salvage teams assisting with the Wan Hai 503, which suffered a cargo fire on 9 June, have further stabilised the ship and reduced the temperature in the vessel’s cargo holds, making an agreement with a regional port of refuge more likely.

Kerala State Disaster Management Authority (KSDMA)’s latest update on the vessel’s salvage reported that a 16-man team had boarded the stricken vessel as weather conditions eased, but they did not find the body of the last remaining seafarer who is still missing.
